2019 Hall of Fame Semifinalists: Darren Woodson, Jimmy Johnson

Two iconic Dallas Cowboys are once again in the running for Pro Football Hall of Fame induction; Safety Darren Woodson and Coach Jimmy Johnson. They have been named semifinalists for the class of 2019.

Woodson, who was inducted into the Ring of Honor in 2015, is Cowboys all-time leading tackler. He played from 1992-2003 and picked up three Super Bowl rings, five Pro Bowl trips, and four First-team All-Pro selections along the way.

Jimmy was the Cowboys head coach from 1989-1993. He is credited with building with the Dallas dynasty of the 1990s, personally claiming two of the three championships that the team won during that era.

Both have been nominated before, with Johnson having reached the finalist stage recently. If not this class, Darren and Jimmy should both have their busts in Canton someday.

While not known for his Cowboys career, Linebacker Zach Thomas was also named a semifinalist for 2019. He made his name with the Miami Dolphins, but Thomas did spend 2008 as a solid veteran player in Dallas.

We wish all of these former Cowboys the best in their deserving bids for the Hall of Fame.
