2022 Cowboys Season Preview: Who will Feast on Thanksgiving?

The Cowboys take on the Giants on Thanksgiving day next season. Dallas has a 31-22-1 record in Thanksgiving Day games, with last year’s loss to the Raiders being the most recent. It is crazy to think about, but the Cowboys and Giants have only matched up only one other time on
Thanksgiving in 1992, a game the Cowboys won 30-3.

Since 2017, Dallas is 9-1 against the Giants. The only loss came when Dak Prescott was out due to injury. Otherwise, the last time Prescott lost when he was behind center was during his rookie year.

The Cowboys should have no problem handling New York at home. Dallas should be sitting around (7-3) or (6-4) by the time this game rolls around.

With that said, these types of games either go two ways for Dallas. It will be a snooze fest, and the Giants will get a touchdown late to make the score look a bit prettier, or for some reason, the game will keep us on our toes until late into the fourth quarter. The Cowboys will win this game. It is just a matter of which type of contest we will see.

Thanksgiving games are probably my favorite of the entire season (outside of the playoffs). Although, the Cowboys have lost their last three Thanksgiving day games, they will get back on track and put another win into the left column.

I don’t think anyone knows what type of team the Giants will be fielding when Thanksgiving rolls around, they are a bit of a question mark, but the Cowboys should be in the thick of things, not only in the division but in the NFC in general.

Prescott has a passer rating of 100.1 with 2,886 yards, 21 touchdowns, and five interceptions in 11 career games against the Giants. They just aren’t going to lose if he is behind center, but maybe it will be Ezekiel Elliott or Tony Pollard who feast on this Thanksgiving day game.
