2023 Dallas Cowboys fantasy football preview

Happy Sunday, Cowboys fans. With the heat of the summer on, myself and others at Inside The Star have covered just about everything up to this point.

Something I love just as much as Cowboys football is fantasy football.

In just a few short months I will be completing all my mock drafts, and going over who I would selected at every draft slot.

The Dallas Cowboys have some prime players that you should add to your team if available in the right round.

So for a holiday weekend, I wanted to have a little fun on this Sunday and go over a preview of some players I think you could add to your roster in September.

Brandin Cooks

Let’s start with a sleeper you can snag in the later rounds that could easily be your No. 2 wide receiver on your team.

Brandin Cooks produces every where he goes. A walking 1,000 yard machine. His big play ability is off the charts. In 2022, he ripped off 20-plus yards on 14 percent of his targets.

With the trio of Cooks, CeeDee Lamb, and Michael Gallup, this team is going to feast on the outside.

Look for Cooks to bring you nice value in the later rounds when the top heavy pass catchers are off the board.

Tony Pollard

Going into the 2023 season, Tony Pollard would have been one of the first top 5 running backs taken off the board if not for suffering a fractured fibula.

Still, even with that, Pollard can be the running back No. 2 on your roster. That injury probably puts him either No. 10 or right on the outside of that list for fantasy.

According to Fantasy Pros, Pollard scored more fantasy points than any other running back (19.3 per game) from Weeks 7-16 when he was consistently playing 53% or more of the snaps as the team’s featured back.

Even with drafting Deuce Vaughn the Cowboys don’t really have a backup running back as of right now.

Vaughn and maybe Malik Davis or Ronald Jones would help with the load early.

Pollard is still worth a early round pick to fill out your running backs or flex position.

CeeDee Lamb

CeeDee Lamb should be the first Dallas Cowboys taken in fantasy drafts across the country this year.

Lamb has a real chance to lead the league in receiving yards in 2023. He had over 1,300 yards a season ago with Noah Brown and Dennis Houston behind him.

This offense now gets Cooks and a healthy Michael Gallup. The production of Lamb is about go go through the roof!

He was seventh in target per route run rate and sixth in yards per route run according to Fantasy Pros.

Big year is in store for Lamb.

Other players like Gallup, and maybe a backup tight end might be worth holding onto.

Dak Prescott could also serve as a solid quarterback if you don’t get one early.

He would also be a solid second option in a two quarterback league.

The Cowboys defense will also rack up nice fantasy points for you with all the turnovers and sacks they should create this season.
