BREAKING: Amari Cooper on COVID List, Maybe OUT for 2 Games

In a potential shootout between high-powered offenses, the Cowboys may now be without one of their top weapons. Wide Receiver Amari Cooper has been placed on the Reserve/COVID-10 list and will miss Sunday’s game at the Kansas City Chiefs. What’s worse, the short turnaround to Thanksgiving means he’ll likely be out next Thursday against the Las Vegas Raiders as well.

Cooper is practically co-leading the receivers in Dallas so fart in 2021. While he’s behind CeeDee Lamb in catches, yards, and touchdowns, Amari is close in all categories and has still come up big in several clutch moments through the season.

Thankfully for Dallas, Michael Gallup just returned last week and they still have a potent offense with Cedrick Wilson in the mix. Cooper’s absence is hardly a positive but, as we saw from Weeks 2-9, the Cowboys can still get things done even when one part of their three-headed WR monster is missing.

It’s unfortunate if Amari misses Thanksgiving Day as it would be his first game against the Raiders since leaving them in the 2018 trade between then-Oakland and Dallas. The Cowboys sent their 2019 1st-Round pick to the Raiders in exchange for the Pro Bowl receiver and got every bit of what they paid for.

Cooper spent three-and-a-half years with the Raiders after being the fourth-overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.

Thanks to having Gallup and Wilson to turn to, the blow here may ultimately be more personal for Amari than a hit for the Cowboys. But nevertheless, it appears Dallas will be working without one of their best offensive tools for the next two games.
