Bad news from Dallas Cowboys practice today; defensive lineman David Irving was carted off the field with a reported ankle injury.
The severity of the injury is still unknown, but it’s rarely a good sign when they have to call for the cart. The news was reported via Twitter by NFL Network’s Jane Slater:

As Jane stated, this would be a bad break for Irving in an already difficult season. He missed Weeks 1-4 from a suspension and then Week 5 as he was getting adjusted back to football form.
If his season is over, David will have played in just two games and registered one sack.
It’s not the kind of year Irving wanted with free agency in view for 2019. He played this year on the restricted free agent tender and was certainly hoping to earn a lucrative deal in the next offseason.
That said, Irving will still be a 25-year-old with freakish athletic ability. His market may still be pretty strong.
For now, though, we just hope this injury isn’t the end of David Irving’s season. We will update you as the information becomes available.
