Everyone pause what you’re doing and listen because the Dallas Cowboys have finally signed a wide receiver. According to Cowboys reporter Michael Gehlken, the team is signing former long-time Colts wideout T.Y. Hilton to a one-year deal.

While it may not be the receiver that fans wanted, Hilton brings veteran experience and adds a bit of explosiveness to the WR room. Also, for those curious about if the franchise will still pursue OBJ or why they chose Hilton over him, NFL Insider Josina Anderson has your answer below.
League source on if the #Cowboys signing T.Y. Hilton definitely means they've shut down talks with Odell Beckham Jr: "not clearly moved on from Odell."
When asked for thoughts on why Dallas proceeded with Hilton–given the above answer–was told bc Hilton can play "right now."

Shifting away from the Odell talk and focusing on Hilton, fans should expect the wideout to contribute off-the-bat. While his stats from last season could signal “he’s washed,” Hilton is a player that won’t have a huge learning curve, and his lofty resume speaks for itself.
Five 1,000-yard seasons and 9,691 career yards later, Hilton will come in as the team’s most experienced wideout and serve as a great mentor for the young Cowboys WR corps.

Also, I fully expect him to get easy looks, as teams will have to pick their poison on if they give more attention to him, WRs CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup, or TE Dalton Schultz.
It’s a win-win for everyone.
Finishing off, the most interesting aspect about this signing is what the team will do with WR James Washington, who recently returned this past week. Whether they slide Washington into that WR4 role or cut him, a move is bound to happen with the wideouts.
Add that the team has Noah Brown and Jalen Tolbert on the roster — things might get weird in the wideout room. Also, based on the report above, it looks like the team may still add Odell, but there is no timeline on when that may materialize.
At the moment I'm told, #Cowboys feel unsure of how long the tail-end of Odell Beckham Jr's current rehab will specifically take, thus the T.Y. Hilton move today. Was also just told-as of this tweet-Jerry Jones & Odell Beckham's camp are "still talking." Talks are "ongoing."

For now, welcome to the Cowboys, T.Y.
