BREAKING: Ryan Kerrigan Staying in NFC East, Signing w/ Eagles

One of the best pass rushers in the history of the NFC East, Ryan Kerrigan, isn’t going far from his longtime home in Washington. The free agent EDGE is reportedly signing with the Philadelphia Eagles after 10 seasons with the Football Team.

The all-time sack leader for Washington and a four-time Pro Bowler, Kerrigan has been a consistent standout for the last decade. His production has dwindled with age; only 5.5 sacks in each of the last two seasons. But he’s also seen fewer snaps recently with four missed games in 2019 and a reduced role in 2020 after Chase Young’s arrival.

Now Kerrigan heads to the Eagles and may have better opportunities to get to opposing quarterbacks. Philly had the third-most sacks in the NFL last year with 49 despite no individual standouts; only eight sacks for Brandon Graham to lead the team.

Lots of different Eagles registered sacks in 2020. As long as he’s still got something in the tank, it’s a chance for Ryan Kerrigan to show what he can still do.

Kerrigan’s always been an opponent you can respect; one of the go-to names when asked “who’s your favorite player from a division rival?” He’s someone we never looked forward to seeing when Dallas and Washington met twice a year.

Kerrigan will still get those two annual games against the Cowboys with the Eagles. Now that he’s in Philadelphia, I will have to struggle to like him as much as I used to.
