CeeDee Lamb Says “Very Realistic” Cowboys Will Have 3 Receivers Over 1,000 Yards

The Dallas Cowboys passing attack was lethal last season as both Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup set career highs in several categories. Now with the addition of CeeDee Lamb, Cooper believes this trio could produce three 1,000-yard receivers in 2020. “I think with me and Michael Gallup going for 1,000 yards last year, the expectation is to have three 1,000-yard receivers this year,” Cooper said per Todd Archer of ESPN.

This milestone has only happened five times in NFL history, with the last coming in 2008 by the Arizona Cardinals. However, Lamb also shares the same expectations as the aforementioned Cooper about this trio being the sixth to do so this season.

“I think that’s very realistic,” Lamb told Michael Irvin during an interview on NFL Network. “That’s definitely what we’re pushing for.”

“We talk about it a lot on the field, just kind of understanding the personnel that we have, the different type of characteristics in each other’s games. Just being like, wow, it’s crazy that I actually ended up here.”

In 2019, the Cowboys almost achieved this rare accomplishment as both Cooper and Gallup went over 1,100 yards and Randall Cobb produced 828 yards of his own.

The expectations for Lamb are extremely high even in his rookie campaign and he also has the pressure of living up to wearing the legendary 88, which is revered throughout the Cowboys organization.

“The pressure is definitely there,” Lamb told Irvin. “You can feel it in the room. You can feel it in the air. But I feel like pressure break pipes, and I’m all for it. I’m excited, like I said, it’s definitely been a ride these past couple practices just learning and getting in tune with the quarterbacks, getting the routes down, learning from Amari. No better feeling, honestly.”

With Lamb’s ability to not only play in the slot but on the outside as well, much like Cooper, defenses will literally have to pick their poison when you add Gallup into the equation. As good as the Cowboys aerial assault was last season it could reach a whole new level with this group in 2020.

I write dope stuff about the Dallas Cowboys and what not.
