The Cowboys had a rare interception by the defense but still gave up 17 points to the Bears in the first half. Their own offensive issues and more bad play at kicker have built a 17-7 halftime deficit on Thursday Night Football.

Chicago has 210 yards of offense and Mitch Trubisky has thrown a pair of touchdowns to Allen Robinson. Even a Jourdan Lewis interception to kill the Bears’ first drive hasn’t helped the Cowboys avoid another early-game disaster.

This should at least be a one-possession game, but Brett Maher missed from 42 yards and continues to be a total liability for Dallas.

Dallas scored the game’s first touchdown on a run by Ezekiel Elliott, who has had a strong outing thus far. Zeke has 72 rushing yards on just 12 carries, which is one yard more than his entire body of work last week against Buffalo.

It hasn’t been so good for Dak Prescott, who has completed just six of 13 passes for 60 yards. There has been no rhythm so far in the passing game, most glaringly evident when Prescott and fullback Jamize Olawale blew an easy third-down conversion by not being on the same page.

But the real problem right now is Dallas’ inability to slow down a usually weak Bears offense. They’re getting beat in every phase of the game, but a lack of defensive play-making outside of Lewis’ pick is killing the Cowboys right now.
