The Dallas Cowboys should replace The Star on their helmets with a shovel, because they keep digging themselves into trouble this season. Two turnovers and abysmal defense have them trailing the Cleveland Browns 31-14 at halftime of their Week 4 matchup.

Ezekiel Elliott is rushing better today than he did last week in Seattle with 46 yards on just eight carries. But he also had a fumble, Zeke’s third already in 2020, to set up the Browns for one of their four touchdowns.

Dak Prescott has been great; two touchdowns and 197 yards on 13/16 passing. But he also had a first-half fumble to give Cleveland good field position and another score.

Dak’s fumble came on a strip sack by Myles Garrett, who was abusing right tackle Terence Steele in the beginning of the game. Steele, who was benched at halftime last week, looked no better today and was replaced by Brandon Knight after the turnover.

Dallas would still be in this game despite the turnovers, though, if their defense was accomplishing anything on the field. The Cowboys have been completely run over by the Browns offense with 164 rushing yards allowed in just the first half.

A familiar foe is also having his way with Dallas; receiver Odell Beckham has five catches for 81 yards and two touchdowns. He’s been wide open on a few plays and the Cowboys seem to have no answer for anything Cleveland’s doing offensively.

Will the Cowboys be able to mount another comeback against this 17-point deficit? We’ll find out soon.
