Cowboys first-round pick in 2022, Tyler Smith, has the chance to be the next great offensive lineman for this team.
Of every offensive player in week four, Smith was the highest-rated player, with a Pro Football Focus grade of 93.7.

Last season, Smith was graded the 25th-rated tackle in the NFL, an excellent start to a hopefully long career.
He was named the starter on the all-rookie team.
Smith did have a penalty issue in college that he brought with him last season.
He totaled 11 flags, but thus far, in 2023, he has been off to a much better start.
That is impressive for the second-year player out of Tulsa.
I will be the first to tell you I was curious about the pick. Smith was a raw talent who had only shown flashes while in college.
I should have trusted this team in the way they draft offensive linemen.
Zack Martin and Tyron Smith will end up in the Hall of Fame; sometimes, you must trust the personal guys to make a pick like this.
It sounds like everyone, but Tyron Smith will be ready to go on Sunday Night Football against the 49ers.
The Cowboys have a lot of depth at the offensive line.
Although not great, if either smith goes down again they can throw TJ Bass right in the fire who went undrafted out of Oregon. Not sure how it happened, but when he was given the chance to start, he didn’t look that bad.
We have yet to see the entire starting five offensive linemen play together.
Tyler and Tyron Smith, Zack Martin Tyler Biadasz, and Terence Steele.
This will likely be Week 23 without the #Cowboys having their full starting offensive line.
Really starting to wonder if we will ever see Tyron Smith-Tyler Smith-Tyler Biadasz-Zack Martin-Terence Steele ever play a single snap together. https://t.co/U5tupZSqbx

It would be a huge bonus to see the entire starting offensive lineman group play together against one of the best defensive fronts in all football.
Tyler Smith is a beast
And you telling me Dak Prescott graded higher than Brock Purdy
But Twitter said… https://t.co/d56WSLuFDv— Clarence Hill Jr (@clarencehilljr) October 3, 2023
Tyler Smith did one game due to injury, but if he can stay away from those throughout his career, he can be one of the best to suit up for the Cowboys, and that is saying a lot.
Smith is currently PFF’s highest-graded guard and run-blocker. He also has the No. 7 graded pass-blocker.
He keeps up that type of production, and by the end of the year, he could find himself getting the call for a Pro Bowl nod.
Sunday Night Football
The Cowboys are going to need all hands on deck Sunday night against the 49ers.
It is time for the national media to have a sick day on Monday because nobody wants to show up and admit that this team is legit.
The Cowboys are going to win this game. Tyler Smith and the rest of the unit is going to have to be big time.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on @1053thefan said LT Tyron Smith (knee) is “iffy” for Sunday against the 49ers. “We’re well prepared if he (can’t play.)”
Jones likes the chances of Zack Martin playing against the 49ers

He has not allowed a sack yet this season and only surrendered 5 last year, so as long as he holds up, he has a chance to make the Pro Bowl and finish as one of the best player for the Cowboys this season.
Smith sure is looking better than Mazi Smith right now, and I liked the Mazi pick at the time better than drafting Tyler, but glad I was wrong on that one.
I can’t wait for Sunday Night Football.
