Mike McCarthy’s Former Draft Picks (2006-2018)[tps_header][/tps_header]

History has a way of of repeating itself, whether we really realize it or not. That’s why I decided to go back and look at every single draft pick Mike McCarthy made during his time with the Green Bay Packers. I was curious if there might be some kind of pattern or clue that could help us determine what the Dallas Cowboys may do in each round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Now, I fully understand this is a flawed exercise considering all of the different intangibles that impact draft picks year after year, but I thought it was interesting nonetheless. For instance, the Green Bay Packers draft needs over the years have changed and they will be certainly different for the Dallas Cowboys. Also, Mike McCarthy will be working with a new general manager as well. Regardless, I thought there could be something to be learned from McCarthy’s past.

I decided to do a round by round breakdown of all of Mike McCarthy’s draft picks with the Green Bay Packers from 2006 to 2018. If you’re not good at math, that’s 12 years worth of draft picks. That’s a lot of information to take in all at once and it was a lot of work, but I think it was probably worth it. I noticed a few draft tendencies, but only time will tell if they repeat themselves.
