The Dallas Cowboys have had a rollercoaster 2020 season, to say the least. They’ve experienced a plethora of injuries, parted ways with several free-agent additions, and endured a four-game losing streak.
There’s one thing that’s been consistent throughout this bumpy ride. No matter if the Cowboys were getting blown out by the Washington Football Team in Week 7, or dominating the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 16, Elliott Elliott has made himself available to the media regardless of how he performed. So much so, that the Dallas chapter of the Pro Football Writers of America named him the 2020 Good Guy Award winner.
The award honors a player for his consistent and outstanding cooperation with the team’s beat writers. Past winners include Jason Witten (2012), Dez Bryant (2013), and Dak Prescott (2017, 2019).
Well deserved.
First guy to talk every Wednesday, no matter what. First guy on the call after every game, no matter how good or bad it went. https://t.co/wmwtZqPVQk

“Zeke was a consistent with the media as he was on the field in 2020,” Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram said. “Despite obvious challenges due to the pandemic, some personal disappointments, and the team’s rollercoaster season, he showed up time and time again – after every game and during the week – answering questions virtually with a positive attitude. He was the first player to make himself available after each game. For those reasons, Elliott was named the 2020 Good Guy award winner by the Dallas chapter of the Pro Football Writers of America.”
If anyone could have dodged the media this year it’s Elliott. Even with his fumbling issues earlier in the season, and the whispers from the media and fans about him not being the same player anymore, Elliott has been there to face the music.
This honor may seem minuscule to some. However, it says a lot about Elliott’s character that he can be honest about himself and the team no matter the circumstances.
