Cowboys K Brett Maher Wins NFC Special Teams Player of Week 16

Dallas Cowboys Kicker Brett Maher was named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for the second time this year. His 59-yard field goal helped the Cowboys defeat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 16 and clinch the NFC East.

Maher also won the award in Week 4 after hitting four field goals, including the game winner, in Dallas’ victory over the Detroit Lions.

Ironically, former Cowboy Dwayne Harris was also the AFC winner in Week 4.

In the last three weeks, Maher has kicked the two longest field goals in Cowboys franchise history. His 62-yarder against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 14 set a new record.

Thankfully, Dallas still has Brett under contract for 2019. They appear set at kicker for at least next year, and are entering the playoffs with confidence at a critical position.

Congratulations to Brett Maher on his award!
