The Dallas Cowboys selection of Boise State linebacker Leighton Vander Esch in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft was met with mixed emotions from the Cowboys’ fan base.
Some fans had hoped the team would go in a different direction, such as Georgia’s Isaiah Wynn or Boston College’s Harold Landry, while others appreciated the fact that Dallas was looking to bolster its suspect linebacker group.
Regardless, one place where the selection was only met with positive emotions is back in Boise. Over the weekend, Boise State head coach Bryan Harsin tweeted out a photo of a billboard in Boise, congratulating Vander Esch on fulfilling his NFL dreams.

Of course, the billboard is pretty awesome, as it’s always cool to see the pride which smaller schools have in their professional players.
Leighton Vander Esch is much needed on the Cowboys defense, and hopefully he can fill in at WILL and make Cowboys fans just as proud as he’s clearly made Boise State fans during his time in college.
