With their last pick in the 2023 NFL draft, the Dallas Cowboys selected wide receiver Jalen Brooks from South Carolina.
The team waited until their last pick two picks in the draft to add a running back, then a wide out.
Brooks adds depth to the room, but does not have good speed. He has decent ball skills which might be the reason the team thought he would be worth a try.
Brooks started his career as a linebacker at North Carolina, but transferred to SC for his final three years. He only had 58 catches for 785 yards and two touchdowns. I am very confused by this pick.
Nonetheless, I will let him come in and see what he’s got before I address it any further, but my guess is that he will come in and compete for a roster spot and then end up on the practice squad.
Time will tell, I will give my thoughts on the draft next week, but only liked a handful of picks.
boom. Jalen Brooks it is.
