Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott is the betting favorite for NFL Comeback Player of the Year, returning from a broken ankle that cost him the 2020 season following a Week 5 win over the Giants. Prescott did just enough for backup Andy Dalton to complete that win against the Giants, but the Cowboys let a weak division slip away as Dalton won just four starts of his own.
With a stellar returning cast on offense, and the NFC East projected to once again be a winnable division that favors the Cowboys QB situation over that of the Eagles, Giants, or Washington Football Team, it’s easy to see why Prescott is the 5/2 betting favorite here.

Prescott has been on the field since day one of OTAs, telling the media that he feels he could play in a game as soon as needed. The Cowboys open the season in primetime against the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers, matching up the comeback player of the year hopeful with Tom Brady.
The second best odds for this award remain in the NFC East, as Giants RB Saquon Barkley also returns from injury to an offense coordinated by former Cowboys HC Jason Garrett. If either Prescott or Barkley win this award, it will mark the second consecutive season a player from the division has taken home the honor, with WFT QB Alex Smith the deserving winner in 2020.
