The Dallas Cowboys came into week 3 looking to take care of business against the tanking Miami Dolphins. In the first quarter, they looked like they were going to run away with the game from the start.

Dallas started fast, scoring 10 quick points and jumping out to a 10-0 lead. Their defense then started to play shaky, giving up yardage way too easily, especially through the air over Chidobe Awuzie. The Cowboys hung onto a 10-6 lead heading into halftime, and fans were getting antsy to see them take over the game.

In the third quarter, they did just that. Dak Prescott led the Cowboys offense to a dominant third quarter, throwing and running for a touchdown to start the half. Once up 24-6 the Cowboys defense hunkered down as well, and the pass rush was able to get after Dolphins quarterback Josh Rosen.

Robert Quinn was masterful today, not only having a sack but forcing pressures on seemingly every second half pass attempt. DeMarcus Lawrence and Maliek Collins came away with big sacks as well.

On offense Amari Cooper had a massive day, catching two touchdowns and leading the team in receiving yards. Ezekiel Elliott was once again over 100 yards rushing too, and did so pretty effortlessly. Tony Pollard had his best day as a pro thus far, rushing for 103 yards and a touchdown on just 13 carries.

The Cowboys closed out the Dolphins to win the game 31-6, and improve their record to 3-0 on the season. For the third straight week the Cowboys had dominant second half performances, and now look like the class of the NFC.

They will be back on the road again next week when they travel to New Orleans to play the Drew Brees-less Saints on Sunday Night football.
