The Dallas Cowboys have made a very good job acquiring players through the NFL Draft, and not only by actually drafting players. They just got Los Angeles Rams’ former WR Tavon Austin for a sixth round pick.
Building a “Dak-friendly” offense has been the mission this offseason and adding a speedy Austin for just the 192nd pick in the Draft certainly seems like a move Cowboys Nation should be excited and happy about.
Dallas gave up 192nd overall pick in sixth round to land former Rams WR Tavon Austin.

The Cowboys didn’t give up much and still have ammunition to pick some more players in the 2018 NFL Draft.
The #Cowboys have traded the 192nd overall pick for #Rams WR Tavon Austin. They are still scheduled to pick 171st overall, and have two other picks in the 6th round.

What does all of this mean for the WR room in Dallas? Certainly, there are a few players who will be fighting for a roster spot in training camp. Even with Dez Bryant gone, that position is loaded for the Cowboys and they won’t be able to keep them all.
Even well-known names like Cole Beasley and Terrance Williams will have to fight for their job.
The Cowboys drafted Michael Gallup in the third round last Friday night, the front office is really all-in in giving Dak the weapons he needs.
Could Austin be cut before the season starts? Could be, but the Cowboys only gave up one of their three sixth-round picks. Nice trade for America’s Team.
Ian Rapoport reports the Cowboys view Austin as the next Lance Dunbar, though. So expect Dallas to use him as a running back as well. Perhaps a hybrid between WR and RB.
The #Cowboys traded for a RB, not a WR. That’s how they view Tavon Austin. Kind of like they had with Lance Dunbar.
