Marion was a rookie for the Cowboys’ second Super Bowl win in the 90s, playing backup safety and on special teams. He was one of the top performers on special teams his first two seasons.

Brock became the starting free safety in 1995 after James Washington joined the Redskins in free agency. He had 114 tackles and six interceptions that year, emerging as a standout player as the Cowboys went on to win Super Bowl XXX.

While an injury cost him six games in 1996, Marion continued to be a solid starter for the next two seasons in Dallas.

One of his signature games came in 1997 when Brock recorded 19 tackles, one of the highest single-game marks in team history, in a loss to the Packers.

In 1998, Marion left as a free agent to rejoin Jimmy Johnson in Miami. Not only did he blossom as one of the league’s top safeties, going to three Pro Bowls beginning in 2000, but he also was a standout kick returner for the Dolphins.

Brock would also play a single year as a starter safety for the Lions in 2004 after Miami cut him to clear salary cap space.

While his personal best years were in Miami, Brock Marion was one of the best players the Cowboys ever selected in the Seventh Round. He gave Dallas three excellent seasons as a starter and won two Super Bowls.
