Just when you think the staff is pretty much set, the Dallas Cowboys continue to add to their coaching staff. Earlier today it was announced that the Cowboys hired former Defensive Coordinator George Edwards to coach the linebackers. Now it’s being reported that the team will add Chase Haslett to the staff as the Offensive Quality Control Coach.

Chase Haslett is the son of former New Orleans Saints Head Coach Jim Haslett. Jim, was recently seen working with new Dallas Cowboys Head Coach Mike McCarthy at McCarthy’s house during their coaches summit meetings. When he was the head coach of the Saints, Jim Haslett gave Mike McCarthy his first job as an offensive coordinator where he worked for five years before spending a year as Mike Nolan’s offensive coordinator in San Francisco followed by McCarthy’s first head coaching job with Green Bay.
Chase Haslett will join the Cowboys in the same position that Mike McCarthy held in his first NFL job back in 1993 with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Haslett comes to Cowboys with experience in quality control holding the same title at Mississippi State during the 2017 and 2018 seasons before being hired at Mercer University to be the team’s Tight Ends coach. Prior to his stint at Mississippi State, Haslett served as a graduate assistant and quarterbacks coach with the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
