The Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers will meet in the first NFL preseason game in two seasons on August 5th, as the historic rivals mark football’s return with the Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio. This also means both clubs begin training camp on July 21st, three days before the rest of the league.
The NFL has released the full 2021 preseason schedule. The Cowboys first game against the Steelers is the only Dallas matchup to make the national TV schedule.

Following the Hall of Fame game, the Cowboys will play in Arizona before their yearly meeting with the Texans. They conclude the preseason against Urban Meyer and the Jacksonville Jaguars. This being a week four preseason game, it’s unlikely the Cowboys will get a look at first overall pick Trevor Lawrence.
Their “dress rehearsal” opponent in the Houston Texans announced yesterday they cancelled their minicamp following well-attended OTAs. The Cowboys preseason Week 3 opponent appears on their regular season schedule as well, facing the Cardinals in a Week 16 home game.
