Dallas Cowboys Sign Corey Clement, RBs 3rd NFC East Team

The Dallas Cowboys final roster cuts down to 53 players left room for a third running back, as the team kept just Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard. Rico Dowdle was placed on season ending IR following the third preseason game and JaQuan Hardy is now on the practice squad. The Cowboys have added NFC East veteran Corey Clement to fill this void.

Clement saw the bulk of the carries in Jason Garrett’s offense with the Giants this preseason, but was cut as New York prepares for Saquon Barkley to reclaim his starting role. A UDFA signing by the Eagles in 2017, Clement was a part of Philadelphia’s Super Bowl run as both a RB and special teams player.

Be it Cowboys ST Coordinator John Fassel or RB Coach Skip Peete that made the call for Corey Clement, the team isn’t shying away from outside help to improve the depth of this roster. Earlier today, they addressed the QB2/3 position by signing Will Grier – who was cut by the Panthers.

Clement will be eligible to practice as soon as he arrives at The Star, with the Cowboys in full preparation for week one at the Buccaneers next Thursday.
