Dallas Cowboys Versus Detroit Lions: Injury Report for Week 17

The Dallas Cowboys are as healthy as can be expected for a Week 17 matchup versus fellow NFC playoff team the Detroit Lions.

There are a couple of key players the Cowboys are hoping to have back for this game, and the Lions have some key players banged up, as well.

For a Week 17 game, the injury report is relatively clean for both teams.

That is a good indicator that we will see a good game with most key players on the field for each team.

Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys officially list nine players on the final Week 17 injury report.

Out

DT Johnathan Hankins (ankle), RB Rico Dowdle (ankle)

Johnathan Hankins has been a boon to the defense’s run-stopping ability and would have been a plus to have on the field against Detroit.

Instead, he is out another week and will be spelled primarily by rookie Mazi Smith.

RB Rico Dowdle has been dealing with an ankle injury for approximately a month.

It hasn’t appeared to affect him on the field, but Dallas decided to give him some rest this week to try and recuperate it.

Questionable

LT Tyron Smith (back), DE Viliami Fehoko (knee)

Both Tyron Smith and his backup Chuma Edoga find themselves on the injury report this week.

Smith is dealing with a bad back that kept him out of the lineup versus Miami.

Viliami Fehoko, who has yet to see the field this season, has been dealing with a tweaked knee but is listed as a full participant in practice.

No Designation

S Malik Hooker (ankle), RB Hunter Luepke (thigh), OT Matt Waletzko (shoulder), RG Zack Martin (quad), OL Chuma Edoga (toe)

Malik Hooker missed the Bills game due to a sudden illness, but he played at Miami through a sore ankle.

Hunter Luepke, a popular topic this week after fumbling at the Miami one yard line, is dealing with a sore thigh, but all signs point to him playing.

Matt Waletzko was just activated from Injured Reserve-Designated to Return to add valuable depth to the offensive line.

Zack Martin played through the pain of a bruised quad last week and has been rewarded some veteran rest days this week.

Chuma Edoga could be in line for another start this week if Dallas rules Tyron Smith out again.

Edoga is dealing with a sore toe but has been cleared to play.

Questionable

CB Cam Sutton was a late addition to the injury report with a sore toe.

He did not practice on Thursday and is officially listed as questionable.
