Robert Quinn was one of the Cowboys’ most high profile free agents this Spring.

No, he wasn’t Dak Prescott or Amari Cooper star level, but he was the team’s sack leader in 2019 and was highly coveted across the league once entering free agency.

How or why he chose to not only leave the Cowboys, but to join the Chicago Bears was not completely discernible by the public. Of course, the Cowboys have spent a lot of cash this offseason on their offensive star, so maybe they didn’t even entertain the idea of bringing the talented pass rusher back at his new price tag.

What we do know now, however, is that Robert Quinn couldn’t fully make up his mind either. According to Patrick Finley of The Sun Times, Quinn told Chicago media he “flipped a coin” when deciding whether to join the Bears or Atlanta Falcons.

I have to say, I love the honesty.

Robert Quinn came to Dallas for a sixth round pick and played well beyond his contract. He earned every cent that the Bears offered him, and good for him for getting paid.

On the other hand the Cowboys decided to let him walk, prioritizing their big time offensive players and some cheaper veteran interior options during free agency. Quinn ultimately signed a five year deal worth $70 million, well out of the Cowboys price range.

He’ll now have plenty of coins to flip for the rest of his life.
