The NFL season may have recently ended, but the road to Super Bowl LVII begins once again over the coming months. Teams will be looking to strengthen around the field in the hope of bringing the illustrious trophy to their city. However, for all franchises, the dream is to reach the Super Bowl, which takes place on February 12, 2023, at State Farm Stadium in Arizona.
Understanding the odds for the Super Bowl at this stage could give gamblers a chance to get a value play before the season gets underway, as the prices will change throughout the campaign. But, which teams are the current favorites in the betting to win the Super Bowl in 2023?
Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills will be playing their final season in Highmark Stadium this year and will be looking to bring the curtain down on their stay by making a strong run toward the playoffs. It has been a long wait for the Bills to get back to the Championship game, as their last win came back in 1965.
They ended the season with a record of 11-6 in 2021 and managed to make it through the Wild Card round of the playoffs after beating the New England Patriots. However, their goal to win the Super Bowl was ended in the following round by the Kansas City Chiefs as they dramatically lost in overtime.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
It has already been a very busy off-season for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tom Brady announced his retirement at the end of the season, before quickly having a change of heart and announcing one more season with the Bucs. His change of decision also prompted the Buccaneers into action off the field, as they announced the signings of Shaq Mason, Russell Gage, and Chris Godwin.
There would have no doubt been huge disappointment around the camp last season, as they were heavily expected to make a strong bid to regain their Super Bowl title. They ended the season with a record of 13-4 and progressed through the Wild Card round with a win against the Philadelphia Eagles. However, they were shocked in the Divisional playoffs by the Los Angeles Rams.
Kansas City Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs have almost made it their specialty to reach the latter stages of the playoffs in recent seasons. However, they have been unable to add to the title that they won in 2020 after coming up short in the past two years. They ended last season with a record of 12-5 and would make it through to the AFC Championship game following victories against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Buffalo Bills.
However, they were narrowly denied a third straight appearance at the Super Bowl, as they were beaten in overtime by the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship game. It has been an off-season of change for the Chiefs, as they traded Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins, and it will be fascinating to see how they compete without their star wide receiver in 2022.
