ESPN: Cowboys Moving On From Head Coach Jason Garrett

In just about the least shocking news you’ll read this week, ESPN’s Ed Werder has reported that Jason Garrett will no longer be apart of the Cowboys organization for the 2020 season.

Speculation over whether Garrett would continue with the Cowboys in some type of capacity has been running wild the past few days, as Dallas seemed to delay his inevitable departure as head coach.

But, at least according to Werder and ESPN, this will not be the case. Garrett has been the head man in Dallas since taking over for Wade Phillips in the middle of the 2010 season, leading the team to an 85-67 regular season record, two playoff wins, and three division titles during his tenure. For most organizations you might qualify Garrett’s span as the head coach as rather successful, but he’s fallen short of lofty expectations in Dallas.

Jason Garrett’s contract as the head coach of the Cowboys will expire shortly, putting Dallas right in the thick of the head coaching search.
