Ezekiel Elliott Helps Raise $85K for North Texas Food Bank

The current COVID-19 pandemic has altered the NFL’s normal preparation for a season, however, that hasn’t stopped Cowboys star Running Back Ezekiel Elliott from making a difference in the community.

In April, Elliott announced that he was teaming up with CentreTX to release exclusive merchandise to help families in need during the coronavirus pandemic and donate 100% of the proceeds to the North Texas Food Bank. On Wednesday, he delivered a check for $85,000 to the organization.

“I am grateful to give back to the city that’s given me so much,” Elliott said via Instagram. “I am thankful for @centretx and YOU my fans for raising enough money to help feed over 400,000 families in North Texas this summer. I hope that this money helps provide much needed relief for those that are currently challenged. I’m looking forward to teaming up with @centretx and @northtexasfoodbank in the future to keep providing meals for those in need in our communities.”

CentreTX thanked Elliott via their Instagram account for his efforts.

“We’re proud to be able to give back to the city that’s given us so much,” said an Instagram post. “A huge thank you to everyone who supported this project with @ezekielelliott and helped us feed many people in the North Texas community — we couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you @northtexasfoodbank for all the good you do and the help you provide our community in a time of such uncertainty.”

It’s one thing to see professional athletes excel at their craft, but when they can give back to the communities that they’re apart of it hits home a little deeper. Salute to Ezekiel Elliott for doing his part.

I write dope stuff about the Dallas Cowboys and what not.
