The NFL has a monopoly on professional football, but that doesn’t mean other leagues haven’t been making their best effort to gain popularity. Football is probably the most popular sport in America, and these professional leagues can sometimes gain local fame because of the sport itself.
Well, if you haven’t heard, there is an Indoor Football League. Created in 2008 out of a merger between the “Intense Football League” and “United Indoor Football,” the IFL has 12 teams and plays a 14 game schedule.
And former Cowboys wide receiver Terrance Williams is the newest signee to the Massachusetts Pirates.

In case the Cowboys’ magical 2014 season didn’t already feel like forever ago, Williams’ signing here should do the trick.
Terrance Williams spent six seasons with the Cowboys, tallying up over 3,000 yards and 20 touchdowns during his time with the team.
Most famously, he caught the touchdown after Tony Romo spun away from JJ Watt during a win over Houston in 2014. And, of course, Tony Romo’s final touchdown pass in 2016 against the Eagles.
Terrance Williams and Tony Romo seemed to have a connection when the play broke down, but Williams’ career sputtered beginning with Romo’s injury and departure after 2016.
Williams never really got another shot in the NFL after his stint in Dallas. I’m rooting for him to make some plays in the IFL, and maybe find a second life in football.
