There’s been no shortage of Dallas Cowboys free agency news over the past 48 hours. The comings and goings of star players have stolen the headlines, but one player most seemed to expect to be back announced he will be moving on from the team via Instagram this week.
Wide receiver Randall Cobb penned a farewell message to the Cowboys fans, writing that he will “forever be grateful” for his time with the team.

Cobb had a productive 2019 with the Cowboys, catching 55 balls for 828 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was a solid number three threat in a loaded passing game, but dropped balls plagued him throughout the season.
With Mike McCarthy coming onboard to coach the Cowboys, it seemed that Cobb would stick around to reunite with his former head coach. Instead, Cobb will be signing with the Houston Texans for the 2020 season. Cobb was able to land a three year deal worth up to $27 million, a deal the Cowboys ultimately deemed too rich for their blood.

This upcoming draft class is loaded with receiving talent, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Cowboys dip into the pool early on draft day. They could not only replace Cobb’s production with a player like Alabama’s Jerry Jeudy, but they could improve on it.
