With huge rumors of Wide Receiver Odell Beckham Jr. joining the Cowboys’ offense, it’s important to look at what he could bring to the team overall. While everyone knows that Odell is a good player, sometimes his skill can be affected by the team he is on.
For example: When Odell was on the New York Giants, he managed to grab one of the greatest catches in the history of football. Sadly that catch was made against the Cowboys’ defense, but still, he had a very strong career at the Giants.

Now, with that said, once OBJ went to the Cleveland Browns, he did not perform as well as he did with New York. With the Giants, OBJ had 390 catches for 5,476 yards and 44 touchdowns. With the Browns, 114 catches for 1,586 yards and 8 touchdowns. Yes, I know he played more games with the Giants than the Browns, but his struggle with Cleveland was clear.
Then after moving to the Rams, he had instant success and won a Super Bowl. So what did the Rams and Giants have that the Browns didn’t? A quarterback. Yeah, I’m gonna pick on Quarterback Baker Mayfield for a minute and just say, he is not a good Quarterback… At all.
Meanwhile, going back to the Cowboys, Dak Prescott would be a great Quarterback for Odell. Dak can make good decisions (unlike Baker) and can throw deep, which is something Odell likes to do. So, it seems like a duo of Dak and Odell would fit perfectly, resulting in good passes, and good catches from each player. It would give Dak another option as well, which brings us to our next subject.
One major flaw for the Cowboys is the famine at the WR position. This has been an ongoing problem all season, but a star receiver like OBJ would fix this problem and help push the Cowboys to an even better overall team. Dak and the offense would be acquiring a new weapon for their team.
We would also be seeing a lot more yards for passing. OBJ is a good route runner and Dak would be able to get the ball to him with ease. I wouldn’t be surprised if OBJ helps Dak get over 250 yards a game if he is acquired by the team.
So do I think OBJ would be a good acquirement? Yes for sure. His presence to the Cowboys nation would make a huge impact on the year. It seems that Odell would be the missing puzzle piece for the Cowboys’ offense.
It will be interesting to see where he ends up. I am hoping that he finds his way to Dallas so Jerry Jones can see if the star looks good on OBJ or not, Ha!
