Following yesterday’s practice for the Dallas Cowboys, Jerry Jones was asked about the scene of urgency to sign another wide receiver following James Washington fracturing his foot on Monday.
“Not at all,” Jones said Tuesday when asked about the possibility of adding to the room after Washington went down. “There’s no urgency looking for a veteran receiver,” he said.

Even before Washington went down, I was hoping the Cowboys would add a veteran to the roster. Now with Washington being out for a possible ten weeks, it may help to add someone to help pass the time until Michael Gallup makes his way back.
CeeDee Lamb. That is the only healthy receiver on the roster who caught an NFL touchdown reception in their career. It feels as if Dallas is now rolling the dice with a handful of guys.
Jalen Tolbert will take over as WR2 on the depth chart. I thought he would begin the season there either way. That still doesn’t help that now they are losing a player who averaged nearly 500 yards in four seasons as a pro with someone who has never caught a touchdown pass.
As September grows near, who emerges as someone that Dak Prescott can depend on outside of Lamb? Do we see the Cowboys run a lot of 12 personnel, or does a guy like Noah Brown take that WR3 role? Brown has had a good camp, he has stood out for many, but those hands might get a heck of a lot tighter when week one rolls around.
"He's having the best camp I've seen him have."
– MM on #Cowboys veteran wideout Noah Brown
I've touched on Brown's camp performances on more than one occasion so far in camp, so I do agree with MM here. Brown has been very good, and I've logged no drops for him.

This group has moved to the top of the list. I’ll be watching from this moment until we see them run out of the tunnel in week one against Tom Brady. This offense got a lot more interesting. It is hard to predict what is going to happen. Would you rather wait until Gallup returns after the first couple of weeks or sign a guy like Will Fuller or Ty Hilton, and maybe they help from week one and beyond?
