After the recent tornado which caused damage throughout North Dallas last Sunday night, Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys donated $1 million to Thomas Jefferson High School for relief efforts.
The announcement was made yesterday before Thomas Jefferson’s homecoming game. Mr. Jones said the following regarding his donation:
“Without a doubt, the foundation of sports at the professional level where the Dallas Cowboys play, the foundation is right here on this field. It’s here with our amateur sports and it’s here with our youth.”
Charlotte Jones Anderson, Jerry’s daughter and the organization’s Executive Vice President and Chief Brand Officer, was also part of the ceremony. Joining them too was Charles Haley, a former Cowboys legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer.
Jerry wasn’t the only sports owner to get involved. In response to Jones’ move, Dallas Mavericks Owner Mark Cuban joined in the efforts to help the Dallas ISD get back on its feet.

It’s easy to take for granted when billionaires give away their money. But make no mistake; not every NFL or NBA owner would show this same generosity or civic-mindedness.
Kudos to Jerry Jones, Mark Cuban, and all others who’ve stepped up to help North Dallas recover.
