Micah Parsons and Zack Martin lead Pro Bowl voting for Cowboys

The Pro Bowl has become an afterthought recently, but that still shouldn’t take away the fact that both Micah Parsons and Zack Martin are currently the leading vote-getters at their position.

This is the first season where there won’t be an actual Pro Bowl game won’t take place, and the voting is still the same as the NFL will switch to a new format that includes flag football and skill competition. The event will occur on Sunday, February 5, in Las Vegas.

I am more interested in seeing the Cowboys win a few playoff games than worrying about the Pro Bowl. Still, that shouldn’t take away the respect these two are getting.

Voting has been open for more than a week, and outside of Parsons and Martin, five other Cowboys players are on the edge of being a lock to make the game.

Trevon Diggs is third among the Corners, and Donovan Wilson is fourth among Strong Safeties. CeeDee Lamb falls 8th with the Wide Receiver group, and DeMarcus Lawrence is 9th among edge rushers.

The one that irks me the most is Tony Pollard being TENTH among running backs. Like are you kidding me??

Brett Maher, who should make the Pro Bowl and be an All-Pro, was not even mentioned, which is shocking. He has been a stud all year long.

All four of the guys above will make the Pro Bowl if they stay away from the injury bug, which Lawrence is playing through right now.

When the season comes to a close, I hope the Cowboys are playing in a much more important game and not worrying about the Pro Bowl.

We all can still vote until Thursday, December 15, on www.dallascowboys.com/pro-bowl-games/vote.

I understand that the Pro Bowl has not been a fan favorite for many years, and I was a fan when it was in Hawaii and AFTER the Super Bowl, but the recent change might get me back into watching it for the skill competition.

Either way, I have voted every day that I could, hoping to get Pollard and Maher a bit higher on the list. Let’s get these guys some more respect!
