Micah Parsons Reveals Having Played Through Knee Issue in 2021

Micah Parsons’ phenomenal rookie season was the brightest spot for the 2021 Dallas Cowboys. His future potential is already scary enough for opposing teams, but now Parsons has revealed that he was playing through a nagging knee problem the entire way.

In an interview yesterday, Micah shared that he hyperextended his knee during the Cowboys’ joint practice last August with the Los Angeles Rams. Parsons said that the issue bothered him throughout the season but Dallas’ tenacious young linebacker didn’t miss a beat.

Parsons played on 78.54% of the Cowboys’ defensive snaps last year; the most of any linebacker or defensive lineman. That number would’ve been higher if he hadn’t missed the Week 18 finale due to COVID-19.

Despite this physical issue, Micah’s performance has garnered about every individual award possible for a rookie defender. Parsons just played in the Pro Bowl and was named a First Team All-Pro; a rare feat for a rookie.

Most are expecting Micah to be named the official Defensive Rookie of the Year tonight at the NFL Honors ceremony. Some even think he should be recognized as the NFL’s top defensive player overall in 2021.

Last season has left many Cowboys fans sour on various aspects of the team. But no reasonable person can have a bad word to say about Micah Parsons. He’s already become a superstar and the team’s top defensive player, and apparently did it all playing through a knee injury.

The future is very bright indeed!
