While the red flags were up following their humiliating loss to the Broncos last Sunday, the Cowboys restored confidence with a 43-3 dismantling of the Falcons yesterday. Even with the rest of the division going perfect in Week 10, Dallas maintains a comfortable lead in the NFC East with eight weeks to go.
Not only do the Cowboys have three more wins than the next-closest division rival but they remain undefeated so far within the NFC East. Their rematches with New York and Philadelphia, plus both games with Washington, are all coming in December.
So far the Eagles are keeping themselves alive with wins like yesterday’s, handling business against Denver the way Dallas should have a week ago. Even if the Cowboys do eventually run away with the division crown, Philly could be in the wild card hunt with a fairly soft remaining schedule.
Washington’s upset over the Tampa Bradys gave their season a desperate shot in the arm. But with DE Chase Young potentially lost for the year with an ACL injury, the Football Team may have won a battle but ultimately lost the war with yesterday’s events.
As for the Giants, they probably avoided their 7th loss of the season by sitting out in Week 10.

The Week 11 slate is full of challenges and intrigue for the entire division. The Cowboys head to Kansas City for the first-ever meeting between Dak Prescott and Pat Mahomes. The 6-4 Chiefs seemed to find themselves again in last night’s beatdown of the Raiders, but the Cowboys present a less-familiar and more dangerous opponent.
Washington will head down to Charlotte for the second week of Cam Newton’s comeback tour with the Panthers. Carolina’s defense had it easy yesterday with Kyler Murray missing from their win over Arizona. Can Taylor Heinicke make things more interesting?
The Eagles will host the Saints, losers of two straight since Jameis Winston was lost to injury. But even with Trevor Siemian in at QB, New Orleans gave the 8-2 Titans all they could handle yesterday as the visiting team. Hopefully they can help the Cowboys and hang a loss on Philly.
New York will return to action next Monday night as the road team against the Buccaneers. The Giants have had an extra week to prepare but Tampa will be angry after getting upset by Washington. And you just know Tom Brady has no love lost for the G-Men.
It should make for a very interesting week in the NFC East. Dallas has one of its toughest remaining games but the rest of the rivals don’t have it easy, either.
