No Dallas Cowboys Named NFL First Team All Pro For 2020 Season

With the 2020 regular season coming to an end, it’s officially award season in the NFL. Today, the Associated Press First Team All Pro list was released.

In what likely comes as a surprise to no one, zero Cowboys were named first team NFL All Pro for this season.

Finishing 6-10 puts you in a tough spot to earn an All Pro nomination during any season, but especially during this particularly disappointing season. The All Pro team is a legitimately prestigious honor, but the Cowboys failed to even have a single Pro Bowler this year as well.

Yeah, it was bad.

There are really only two possibilities for these honors this year in Dallas: wide receiver Amari Cooper and defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence. Cooper broke 1,000 yards receiving with a revolving door of quarterbacks, and Lawrence proved to once again be the best run defender on the edge in the entire NFL.

At the end of the day, though, sacks and wins tend to earn you these sort of honors. Lawrence and the Cowboys had neither unfortunately.

Let’s hope for a much more successful run in 2021.
