Entering this year’s NFL Draft, one of the biggest debates was whether the Dallas Cowboys should go after a WR early. To add fuel to the fire, there were rumors they were going after USC WR Drake London if he fell around the “12-15 Pick Range.”
Well as we all know, they ultimately didn’t reach for a WR early and snagged an Offensive tackle and Defensive End. However, things changed in the 3rd Round when they drafted South Alabama WR Jalen Tolbert at Pick 88.
While some fans may be unfamiliar with the name, Tolbert is a WR that fans should be excited about because of his explosive traits after the catch.
In a Draft Profile breakdown by NFL Analyst Lance Zierlein, Zierlein described Tolbert as a “silky smooth athlete” and said because of his traits, production and talent, he is oozing with NFL potential. Additionally, he projected him as a top-flight WR2 and compared him to Jacksonville Jaguars WR Marvin Jones.
Here are some reactions we saw on Twitter once the pick was announced:

Jalen Tolbert originally committed to Michigan State before deciding to stay in state and receive a dual sport scholarship at South Alabama for baseball and football. Slam dunk here for Dallas.

It's funny how often this happens.
If you had told us in the morning that Jalen Tolbert & Sam Williams would be the Day 2 haul, we all would've said "yep, that tracks." Maybe the order was surprising, but whatevs. They got their guys.

Jalen Tolbert tells us just now that Dak Prescott called him a few days ago to talk ball and his fit with the Cowboys.
