The Dallas Cowboys have two studs starting at defensive end in DeMarcus Lawrence and Randy Gregory this season. However, depth is always key when building a roster, and the Cowboys picked up Chauncey Golston in the third round to bolster the defensive end position.
Nahshon Wright, another third-round pick of the Cowboys, inked his rookie deal on Tuesday night. Now, America’s Team has all of their 2021 rookie class under contract as Golston has agreed to terms according to Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News.
Cowboys have agreed to terms with DE Chauncey Golston on his rookie contract, source said. Third-round pick to sign deal today. After CB Nahshon Wright signed last night, contracts for all 11 picks are completed as training camp begins in Oxnard. First practice Thursday.

Golston showed during his college days at Iowa that he’s not a one-trick pony. He primarily rushed from the edge but he also slid inside to play 3-technique defensive tackle. That type of versatility makes him an interesting chess piece for Defensive Coordinator Dan Quinn to use in his Cover 3 scheme.
The former Hawkeye won’t have an easy go of it in training camp with Tarrell Basham, Dorance Armstrong, Bradlee Anae, and Ron’Dell Carter all competing for backup roles at defensive end. However, Golston just wants to get on the field, and he doesn’t care where.
“You want to be a Swiss army knife,” Golston said, via the team’s website. “So, you want to be able wherever there’s opportunity.”
Now, with training camp set to commence this week, Golston has his shot to prove he can contribute early for the 2021 Cowboys.
