Vander Esch suffered a neck injury in the Cowboys Week 7 win against the Philadelphia Eagles. The hope was that the bye week would give him enough time to fully recover. However, he is still experiencing soreness and motion issues. He was limited in three practices this week.
This will be quite a hole to fill for the NFL’s 8th ranked defense. Fortunately the Cowboys, they have veteran Sean Lee to step up in his absence as well as Joe Thomas. The Cowboys defense will be looking to continue the momentum from their last six quarters of play in which they have only allowed a total of 13 points.
