Report: Cowboys LB Leighton Vander Esch to Undergo Minor Neck Surgery, Done for the Season

Dallas Cowboys Linebacker Leighton Vander Esch is officially done for the 2019 season. According to ESPN’s Todd Archer, he will undergo a “minimally invasive” procedure on his neck in the next few weeks to fix a lingering nerve issue.

Vander Esch suffered the injury in the Cowboys Week 7 win vs the Philadelphia Eagles. He would miss the following game vs the New York Giants but he returned vs the Minnesota Vikings a week later. After reaggravating it vs the Detroit Lions the second-year pro hasn’t seen the field since and won’t until 2020.

The expectation is that Vander Esch will be ready to go in some capacity when the Cowboys offseason program begins in the spring. More details to come.

I write dope stuff about the Dallas Cowboys and what not.
