The Dallas Cowboys have been hit with several injuries to their linebacking core as of late. Leighton Vander Esch has missed the last four games with a neck issue that has put the rest of his 2019 season in doubt. Luke Gifford fractured his forearm in last  Sunday’s win vs the Los Angeles Rams, Joe Thomas is nursing a knee injury and Sean Lee is still dealing with pectoral and knee injuries himself.

However, today the Cowboys made a move to help stop the bleeding a little bit. According to ESPN’s Todd Archer, the Cowboys have signed former Super Bowl XLVIII MVP Malcolm Smith to add some much-needed depth at linebacker.

Smith joins Michael Bennett as the second former Seattle Seahawk to reunite with Passing Game Coordinator and Defensive Backs Coach Kris Richard in Dallas. He played in just two games for the Jacksonville Jaguars before being released in November. More details to come.
