The Dallas Cowboys kick off the 2021 season in a week when they take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Recently, they added a plethora of players to the Reserve/COVID list and it was unclear if that would affect their status to start the season.
The Cowboys got several of those players back on Thursday according to ESPN’s Todd Archer. CeeDee Lamb, Damontae Kazee, and Carlos Watkins will be activated off of the Reserve/COVID list and be eligible to practice with the team.

For these players to be activated the Cowboys will have to finagle their roster to make room. Archer also reported that Neville Gallimore, Sean McKeon, and rookie Josh Ball could be moved to injured reserve to make that a reality.
The Cowboys got back one of their biggest offseason additions on Wednesday as well, but it wasn’t a player. Defensive Coordinator Dan Quinn, according to ESPN’s Ed Werder, returned to The Star in Frisco. Quinn, along with Watkins, tested positive for the virus just before the Cowboys faced the Houston Texans on August 21.

Malik Hooker was the first the be activated from the list last week. However, Connor Williams and Noah Brown remain on it at the moment. Nonetheless, the Cowboys are getting close to having all players on deck, at least the healthy ones, just in time for their battle with the Buccaneers next Thursday.
