The Dallas Cowboys lost a tough 31-29 battle to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday night. Unfortunately, they lost even more than that. According to Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News, Wide Receiver Michael Gallup will miss the next three to five weeks with a calf strain.
Cowboys WR Michael Gallup suffered a calf strain in Thursday’s loss to the Buccaneers, source said. He is expected to miss three to five weeks.

Gallup suffered the injury in the second half. He had hauled in four receptions for 36 yards up until that point including two excellent catches on the sidelines where he displayed excellent footwork. Gallup is in a contract year so this setback isn’t ideal by any means. Gehlken also mentioned that the timeline for Gallup’s injury makes him a candidate for injured reserve, meaning he’d be activated later if he was placed there.
Noah Brown was recently activated off of the Reserve/COVID list but was inactive on Thursday. He’ll be an option for depth behind Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb. Cedrick Wilson will also have a chance for snaps as well. He caught all three of his targets for 24 yards against the Buccaneers.
This is a blow to the Cowboys receiver room. Fortunately, they have a few capable plug-ins while Gallup is away.
