REPORT: Dak Prescott expected to Practice on a Limited Basis Monday

In a training camp where the defense carried most of the question marks, the story shifted to Quarterback Dak Prescott when he injured his throwing shoulder, putting a pause on his return to action from his fractured ankle in 2020. As he’s been brought along slowly so as not to suffer a setback in his rehab, Prescott began doing some light work last week and then went through warm-ups in the Dallas Cowboys preseason loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

Now, according to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, Prescott will be practicing Monday on a limited basis.

What limited means is anyone’s guess at this point, but it’s a step in the right direction. With a myriad of questions about the backup quarterback situation, the reality is that the Dallas Cowboys won’t go anywhere unless Prescott’s under center.

With less than a month until the start of the regular season, the Cowboys need Prescott taking the first-team reps sooner rather than later so he and the offense can build their timing and communication ahead of the 2021 season.

As the Dallas Cowboys look to be the favorite in the NFC East and could contend in the playoffs, they need to get some good luck on the injury front, and it all starts with Dak Prescott.
