The Dallas Cowboys still haven’t confirmed if Quaterback Dak Prescott will play in Sunday night’s game against the Minnesota Vikings. Still nursing a strained calf from their Week 6 win over the Patriots, Prescott is practicing but the latest reports show nothing is certain yet.
Dak came up limping on the final play from the New England win. Rolling out on play-action, Prescott found CeeDee Lamb for the game-winning touchdown but got hurt in the process.
Thankfully the Cowboys just had their bye week, greatly helping the chance that Dak won’t have to miss a game with this injury. But just two days out from Sunday Night Football, we don’t yet know what his status is.

Cowboys expect to have good idea by Saturday whether QB Dak Prescott will play Sunday at Vikings. Soreness this morning not unexpected, given how he pushed himself in rehab during Thursday’s practice. Prescott been seeing first-team walkthrough reps.

Last year, despite else everything that went wrong for the Cowboys, they actually got a win in Minnesota. Prescott had been long absent with his season-ending leg fracture and Andy Dalton was the QB that day.
This year’s team is much stronger overall, not missing Tyron Smith and being generally improved on defense. But with Dalton now struggling for relevance in Chicago, Cooper Rush is the next man up should Prescott miss Sunday’s game.
We’ve never really seen what Rush can do in a regular-season game. He’s never started and only attempted three passes since going undrafted in 2017.
This isn’t the week, or the season really, that we want to risk finding out. The Cowboys have incredible momentum on a five-game winning streak and nobody wants to see that end, especially against an NFC opponent and with potential playoff seeding implications at stake.
Hopefully we get the news we all want to hear this weekend. Dak Prescott isn’t just the starting QB but he’s truly become the heart and soul of the team. We all hope his season and MVP campaign continue in Minnesota.
