The speculation on whether or not Dallas Cowboys Quarterback Dak Prescott will play against the Minnesota Vikings this Sunday has dominated the NFL headlines this week. Prescott suffered a calf strain during the final play in overtime against the New England Patriots two weeks ago when he threw the game-winning touchdown to CeeDee Lamb.
Prescott has been carefully rehabbing the injury ever since. He went full throttle in practice earlier in the week during individual drills but didn’t participate in any team activities. A determination on Prescott’s status was expected to be made after the Cowboys walkthrough practice on Saturday before heading to Minnesota, but according to ESPN’s Ed Werder, it will be a game-time decision.
While Dak Prescott said he anticipated a decision following today’s “launch” practice as to whether he or Cooper Rush starts, a source tells me that is now expected to be delayed to a game-time decision.

If it were up to Prescott solely when it comes to him playing on Sunday he would be on the field. However, he’s taking a more long-term approach to the situation.
“Knowing this is a long journey and a long season, I don’t necessarily know if this is fully my decision, but I’m just going to keep controlling the things I can to get better,” Prescott said on Thursday. “I’ve gotten better each and every day, and that’s what is most important.”
No one will know until moments before the Cowboys attempt to win their sixth straight game if Prescott will be under center on Sunday. This certainly adds to the drama of this big NFC matchup as the Cowboys look to keep pace atop the conference.
