Report: Free Agent DT Dontari Poe to Sign With Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys have been very active on the defensive side of the ball in free agency. They signed veteran Safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix and Defensive Tackle Gerald McCoy last week. Now, a former teammate of McCoy’s is joining him in Dallas.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Cowboys have agreed to terms with Defensive Tackle Dontari Poe.

Poe was a two-time pro bowler (2013, 2014) and Second-Team All-Pro (2013) during his five-year stint with the Kansas City Chiefs. After a year in with the Atlanta Falcons in 2017, he spent the last two seasons with the Carolina Panthers.

He’s played in 121 out of a possible 128 games in his career (118 starts). Not only can he be a force in a 4-3 set but he can also take snaps as a defensive end in a 3-4 scheme. Now, the Cowboys have added two very solid interior pieces on the defensive line in McCoy and Poe which they desperately needed. More details to come.

I write dope stuff about the Dallas Cowboys and what not.
