REPORT: Free Agent WR Cole Beasley Signing with Buffalo Bills

After seven seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, Receiver Cole Beasley is reportedly signing with the Buffalo Bills. The unrestricted free agent is set to make $29 million over the next four years.

Beasley’s return to Dallas didn’t seem likely after the last few months. Not long after the Cowboys were eliminated from the playoffs, Cole took to social media to complain about his decreasing role. He was only targeted five times total in the team’s two postseason games.

Cole not only wanted a larger role but also a commensurate contract. At one point he was reportedly asking for at least $20 million in guaranteed money.

With Dallas firmly committed to Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup as their starters going forward, neither of Beasley’s wants seemed likely to happen. With the team also reportedly keeping Allen Hurns and re-signing Tavon Austin, they appear to have already moved on from Cole.

As an undrafted free agent in 2012, Cole Beasley has had a great career thus far. He was Dallas’ leading receiver during the 2016 season and has emerged as one of the most efficient, reliable targets in the NFL.

Best of luck to him with his next team!
