When it comes to the 2020 Cowboys, “banged up” is an understatement.
Of course their offensive injuries have stolen the headlines, as expected when you lose a franchise quarterback and a couple of future Hall of Fame offensive linemen. But the Cowboys secondary has been wildly injured lately as well.
According to head coach Mike McCarthy, though, there is reason to believe that reinforcements are on the way.
Each of Trevon Diggs, Anthony Brown, and Donovan Wilson participated in practice on Thursday and are on track to play in Sunday’s game against the 49ers.
“I would put all three of them in the same category, I’m optimistic they’ll play on Sunday…The work has been good so far, they participated in the mock game that we just had. So far everything looks good” – Mike McCarthy.
Diggs and Wilson have each emerged as fan favorites in the Cowboys secondary this season, looking like building blocks for their future unit. Anthony Brown is also one of the team’s best cornerbacks, and agreed to a contract extension with the team back in March.

Their return, of course, should be rejoiced.
Last week the Cowboys were forced to turn to undrafted free agents galore at cornerback, but they could be fully equipped for their game on Sunday.
Between the return of these three, safety Xavier Woods, and cornerback Chidobe Awzuie, things are looking much better for the Cowboys secondary for this week.
